Ten years ago I started to paint eggs. I
love calligraphy, but to train yourself in painting, decorating eggs is a good
way, I think.
There are very
different ways to do so. You can decorate with pencils, all kinds of paint, ink,
batik, collages and many techniques you can combine.
I mostly work with ink and watercolour, sometimes acrylic paint.
Another technique is to scratch the paint from the egg, so you see the white or
the brown of the egg again.
First
you have to clean the eggs very well.
I use a special needle to make a perfect round little hole. Then I enlarge this
hole with a little cross heart screwdriver. Then I blow out the contents of the
egg with my mouth (then I need two holes; on both sites of the egg), or I use a
special egg-pump. Then you need only one hole. You have to clean the eggs very
carefully and they will stand for years. You
can use very different kinds of eggs.
I use eggs from the chicken (white and brown), the goose, the turkey (very
beautiful), the duck.(these are very smooth and fine to paint) Harry
